Most movement monitors require repetitive motion to trigger the alarm. Not all night-time events include this though... many of our son’s epileptic seizures looked more like sleepwalking. SAMi is designed to recognize subtle and irregular motion like spasms, sudden jerks, fluttering, or stiffening.

Smart baby monitors aren't designed for parents who need to monitor for changes in behavior or abnormal movement.

SAMi can also detect movement from head to toe, and works well at any age.

2) ........ Nothing to wear or charge:
Arm band and wrist watch monitors can come loose throughout the night without warning. When this happens, they won't work. Wearables in general can be impractical for some, especially small children. These also won't detect movement in the legs, feet, torso, or face the way a video based solution will

Another advantage of video is it allows a parent to quickly check on a child without leaving their bed, either to confirm an alarm or just because. 

4) ........ Real Recordings:
Video recordings of events are generally useful. Examining the video can yield information about the early seizure movements which can give a hint about seizure origin, and you can easily determine an accurate seizure duration.

Yes! You can bring SAMi to the next room or take it on-the-go. If you're moving frequently between locations, we suggest using the same Wi-Fi name and password so SAMi automatically connects. 

- SAMi's alarm requires some amount of motion for the alarm function to work
- SAMi cannot alarm on audio only
- SAMi is not a Medical Device
- SAMi is not FDA cleared
- Not everyone is comfortable with a camera in their room (though our privacy/clock mode helps)
